The Vikes Season is Over

After five straight wins to get back into contention, the Vikes decided to lose their last two games to finish the year 8-8. Even if they had won today, the Redskins beat the Cowboys and clinched the sixth and final NFC spot so today’s game was rather irrelevant.

I missed most of the game as I was traveling back from Houston, but it appears that Chester Taylor fumbled the ball out of the end zone for a touchback and Troy “Soon to be Cut” Williamson dropped a wide open bomb. T-Willy surely played his last game for the Vikes today.

In a fitting end to the game, Tarvaris Jackson fumbled the ball and setup a 30 yard Broncos field goal in overtime to win.

T-Jack actually played well in the fourth quarter, but in typical fashion, he turned the ball over at a critical time.

Once again, Rookie of the Year, Adrian Peterson was shut down. He had 11 carries for 36 yards. I hope the new coach can figure out how to run AD again.

I’m honestly curious to see what happens to Childress. I hope the Vikes fire him, but part of me is worried that Zygi is going to keep him around.

I’m beat, so more on the Vikings 2007 season later this week.
