FREROTTESince the Texans weren’t willing to part with Sage Rosenfels for a third round pick, the Vikes decided to bring back quarterback, Gus Frerotte.
Frerotte has spent the last two seasons as the backup quarterback for the Rams. Last year he was 94 of 167 for 1,014 yards with seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He will fit right in with the Vikes!
Frerotte was a Minnesota Viking in 2003 and 2004 as the backup to Daunte Culpepper.
The 14 year NFL veteran is 36 years old and now likely the Vikes backup quarterback. I’m not totally sure what the difference is between Frerotte and Brooks Bollinger. I guess only Frerotte can say he head butted a wall to celebrate a touchdown and jammed his neck.
The Vikes quarterbacks are now Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte and Brooks Bollinger.
At least they can all handoff.
PRESEASON
Although all the dates haven’t been announced, the 2008 Vikings Preseason opponents have been. The Vikes open the Preseason at home against Seattle (Aug 7-11), then visit Baltimore (Aug 14-17), then host Pittsburgh on August 23rd, then finish at Dallas (Aug 28-29).
